Siddaramaiah will step down from the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told his cabinet at a breakfast meeting that he was stepping down from the post. His deputy DK Shivakumar was also present in the meeting.

There are speculations that Shivakumar will take over as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Siddaramaiah is expected to formally tender his resignation today at 3.00 pm (local time).

Siddaramaiah had sought an appointment with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in Bengaluru this afternoon.

However, the Governor is not in the city.
