French MPs approve assisted-dying law


On Wednesday, French legislators approved a bill that will create a legal right to assisted dying adults with incurable illnesses. The issue has been championed by President Emmanuel Macron but has been highly contentious politically. Still – opinion polls suggest that a large majority of the French population supports assisted dying.
