America attacked for the 9th consecutive night

A US service member was killed during the controlled destruction of an Iranian drone in Iraq, the US military said late Sunday.

The service member is the third American to be killed in recent days, after two American soldiers were killed in Jordan on Friday in an attack claimed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

A third service member was missing following that strike. The US military said on Sunday that “unidentified remains” had been found and were being investigated.

At least 17 US military personnel have been killed since the war began in late February.

The US military launched a new wave of attacks targeting Iran early Monday, the ninth consecutive night of attacks.

“The attacks will continue to degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial ships and civilian sailors passing through the Strait of Hormuz,” the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on Twitter.

Iranian state media reported that the attack took place in the northwestern city of Tabriz. The latest escalation follows previous waves of US strikes that mainly targeted sites on the Persian Gulf coast in southern Iran.

The US has resumed daily attacks on Iran since the ceasefire broke down on July 8.
